# Cloud linking requirements

Before you link a Lansweeper Classic installation to a Lansweeper Platform site, Lansweeper confirms your installation is ready. Every 12 hours, these prerequisite checks run in the background.

When you select **Link with Cloud site** in the web console, a pop-up shows a pass or fail result for each check.

## Prerequisite checks

Lansweeper runs the following checks before linking:

- [Sync server status](/classic/docs/cloud-requirement-sync-server-status)
- [Sync server internet access](/classic/docs/cloud-requirement-sync-server-internet-access)
- [Sync server TLS 1.2](/classic/docs/cloud-requirement-sync-server-tls-12)
- [Lansweeper version](/classic/docs/cloud-requirement-lansweeper-version)

## Resolve a failed check

If a check fails, you get a notification in your alerts tab. Select **Learn how to fix it** to open the page for that check, then follow the instructions there.

When all prerequisites pass, you can [link your installation to a site](/classic/docs/link-lansweeper-classic-with-lansweeper-platform).
