The hub holds the sensor configuration, collects the data the sensors gather, and syncs it to your Lansweeper Platform site. These requirements apply to the hub itself, whichever sensors you install. The sensors have their own requirements: see [IT and OT sensor requirements](/docs/discovery-hub-and-sensor-requirements) and [Traffic sensor requirements](/docs/traffic-sensor-requirements). ## Connection requirements The computer running the hub must allow the following outbound connections over TLS 1.2 or higher when linked to your Lansweeper Platform: | URL | Port | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | `https://app.lansweeper.com` | 443 | Login URL for Lansweeper Sites. | | `https://discovery-gateway.eu.lansweeper.com` and `https://discovery-gateway.lansweeper.com` (EU) `https://discovery-gateway.us.lansweeper.com` (US) | 443 | Authenticates and syncs data with your Lansweeper Site. | | `https://discovery-gateway.cpr.lansweeper.com` | 443 | Checks for new versions to apply auto-updates. Required for every site, whether it runs on EU or US. | | `https://download.lansweeper.com/` | 443 | Downloads new versions automatically. | | `https://app.lansweeper.com/api/scanner-connect` | 443 | Provides connection data to Lansweeper Site for multi-region support. | ## Hardware requirements Hub hardware scales with the number of sensors connected to it. | Resource | Minimum for up to 2 sensors | Recommended for up to 5 sensors | Recommended for up to 10 sensors | Recommended for up to 100 sensors | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | CPU | x64, 1 GHz single-core | x64, quad-core 2 GHz | x64, 8-core 2 GHz | x64, 8-core 4 GHz | | RAM | 2 GB, or 4 GB with traffic sensors | 16 GB | 32 GB | 256 GB | | Internal net speed | 100 Mbps | 1 Gbps | 1 Gbps | 1 Gbps | | External net speed (to your site) | 20 Mbps | 100 Mbps | 300 Mbps | 300 Mbps | Disk space depends on the sensors you install Traffic sensors upload capture files to the hub, so they need considerably more hub disk space than IT and OT sensors do. Check the figures on the page for the sensor you're installing: [IT and OT sensor requirements](/docs/discovery-hub-and-sensor-requirements) or [Traffic sensor requirements](/docs/traffic-sensor-requirements). ## Next steps 1. Check the requirements for the sensor you want to install: [IT and OT sensor requirements](/docs/discovery-hub-and-sensor-requirements) or [Traffic sensor requirements](/docs/traffic-sensor-requirements). 2. Install the hub and sensor together, on [Windows](/docs/install-network-discovery-windows), [Linux](/docs/install-network-discovery-linux), or [macOS](/docs/install-network-discovery-macos) for the IT and OT sensor, or on [Linux](/docs/install-the-traffic-sensor) or [Windows](/docs/install-the-traffic-sensor-windows) for the traffic sensor. The Lansweeper Platform capability that discovers IP-connected devices on your network, including IT, OT, and IoT devices, and keeps their data up to date in your site. Network Discovery is made up of the hub, the IT sensor, the OT sensor, and the traffic sensor. The IT Agent and Cloud Discovery are separate discovery methods. A container in Lansweeper Platform that groups the assets from a single customer's network environment. Your site is also where you use Lansweeper Platform's features, such as dashboards, reports, diagrams, vulnerability data, and Lens Chat. A site can have more than one connected installation, such as multiple Network Discovery hubs.
