# Export a diagram

You can export diagrams to create a snapshot of your environment. These exports are useful for documentation purposes such as compliance, reporting, presentations, or sharing with stakeholders.

To export a diagram:

1. In your site, go to **Diagrams** and open the diagram you want to export.
2. Adjust the filters as needed.
3. Select **Export diagram**.
4. Select a file format:
  - **JPG**: a lossy compressed image, best for smaller diagrams or when you need a lightweight file to embed in reports and documents
  - **PNG**: a raster image with support for transparency, suitable for embedding in reports and presentations where higher visual clarity is preferred
  - **SVG**: a vector image that scales without losing resolution, ideal for large or complex diagrams and for high-quality print use

              SVG exports stay interactive

SVG diagrams retain clickable asset titles that link back to your inventory, and can also be imported into tools such as [Microsoft Visio](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/import-or-insert-graphics-into-visio-drawings-f05e556d-a158-4e16-9bd8-5d45071c9b8c).

After selecting a format, the diagram file is downloaded to your computer and can be shared or stored as needed.
