IT Agent 4.13.5 was rolled back within 18 hours because an upgraded agent could, under a specific timing condition, scan other devices on the local network instead of only the device it's installed on. This was not a security incident, and no outside party was involved. It is fixed in v4.13.6.
Most agents update to v4.13.6 automatically within a few days. Updates are managed through update groups; see Update IT Agent Discovery.
How to tell if you were affected: check any machine that ran the IT Agent before it updated to v4.13.6 for these three signs:
- A security alert describing scan or port sweep traffic from that machine.
- An Npcap packet capture driver that no one installed.
- Scanning that continued even after you restarted the agent.
If you see any of these, contact Lansweeper Support and we'll help directly. If none of this sounds familiar, you weren't affected and no action is needed.
