Lansweeper can track warranty information for assets from Dell, Fujitsu, IBM, Lenovo, Toshiba/Dynabook, and HP. It retrieves details such as the purchase date, warranty expiration date, ship date, purchase country, and any purchased warranty products.
Warranty tracking runs on a Lansweeper Classic scanning server, so you configure it in Classic scanning. Without a Classic installation linked to your site, Scanning doesn't appear in the Discovery menu.
If your site only uses Network Discovery, you can still keep warranty data current for HP assets with the HP Assets warranty sync Flow Builder template. It retrieves warranty information from the HP Warranty API and updates the warranty end date on each HP asset. Duplicate it into your site from the Marketplace's Workflows tab and customize it to fit your needs.
Enable warranty tracking
- Go to Discovery > Scanning. Scanning opens in a new browser tab.
- Go to Server options and select the scanning server that you want to enable warranty tracking on.
- On the General tab, go to the Warranty tracking section.
- Turn on Enable warranty tracking on this server.
- Select Save, or Save and exit to save and close Server options.
- Optionally, select Rescan failed warranties now or Rescan all asset warranties now.
You can enable warranty tracking on only one scanning server per installation. That server retrieves the warranties of all assets in the installation's database.
