Scanned software data arrives in inconsistent forms, such as several spellings of the same publisher name. The Lansweeper Platform normalization feature standardizes that data so each software name, publisher, and version is named the same way across your inventory.
Using machine learning, Lansweeper Platform normalizes software names, publishers, and version numbers. For example, a Google product with its publisher listed as "Google LLC" or the older "Google Inc" in Add/Remove Programs is normalized to "Google".

Normalized software appears in fields throughout Lansweeper Platform.
Software module and asset pages
Your list of scanned software in the Software module displays a normalized list of software. You can also view normalized software data in the Software view on individual asset pages.
Risk insights
The Risk insights module uses normalized software data to assess potential vulnerabilities.
Reports and API
All reports in the Reports module display a normalized list of software. API data also includes normalized software information.
Webhooks don't include normalized software data yet. They continue to provide scanned data.
