Diagrams allow you to explore your IT environment visually and efficiently. You can move around a diagram, search for specific assets, and apply filters to focus only on the objects you want to analyze.
Each asset in a diagram has quick actions available:
- Information: view details about the asset without leaving the diagram
- Issues: see detected problems on the asset (shown only if issues exist)
- Running status: view the current state of a virtual asset (only supported for Hyper-V, Citrix, and VMware)
Explore your diagram
Manually explore your diagram using basic navigation controls:
- Drag: left-click and hold to move the diagram in any direction
- Scrollbars: navigate horizontally or vertically
- Zoom: use your mouse wheel or the
Ctrl+wheelshortcut to zoom in and out
Search your diagram
The integrated search looks across all assets within a diagram’s scope, including visible assets, orphan assets, and assets that have been filtered. This ensures you can always find the asset you are looking for.
To find a specific asset:
- In your site, go to Diagrams.
- Select the diagram you want to review.
- Select Find an asset.
- Search by name, IP address, MAC address, or asset type.
Filter your diagram
Filters let you control which objects are displayed on your diagram.
Filters are remembered per user. When you reopen the same diagram, your previously selected filters are automatically applied.
Filter assets
- In your site, go to Diagrams.
- Select the diagram you want to review.
- Select Filters.
- Select criteria based on asset type, IP address, or state.
- Choose whether to display filtered items as Hidden or Reduced.
Hidden assets are completely removed from the diagram, along with their relations. Reduced assets still appear in the diagram in miniature form (without details), preserving the visibility of their relations for context.
Filter categories
-
Asset type: show or hide assets based on asset types
-
IP address: filter assets by IP location or IP range
- IP location: toggle specific IP locations
- IP range: enter an IP range (start and end), or a CIDR block using
-or/
Filtering by IP address is not possible when the diagram scope is set to IP location.
- State: filter assets by asset state, such as active or broken
Assets without an IP address that have an asset relation inherit the IP location of the related asset. They are shown in the diagram only if your filter settings also display the related asset.
